We picked up your cap and gown yesterday

The woman asked us if the size mattered

And we just kind of stared

She said

It guess it doesn’t matter, does it?

I guess it doesn’t

I guess she was right

After all

You’re dead

So she handed us a random size

For a graduation you’ll never attend

And I guess none of it ever really mattered

I wonder if it ever will
