panama
i remember panama city.
beer cans fell from condominium balconies like stars —
struck my brother’s lips, drops glistening with granules of sand.
he swallowed the sea — drank that beer like he’d never taste another.
.
now i stumble through the sands, drunken on
moonlight — throw beers at the sky.
.
fingers do not slip out from the stars.
cans burst against the sands.
panama does not remember you.
